Tiye Phoenix mini art print
$9.00
One 4″ x 6″ mini print of a portrait illustration that I did of emcee, producer, & singer Tiye Phoenix. See original here.
This is a LIMITED QUANTITY print, with only 4 to purchase right here. There are other opportunities to get one of these: by chance (ordering a “mystery print” where I randomly handpick one to send) or through a giveaway on my Instagram at a later date. That said, if you absolutely want one*, order quickly! First come, first serve.
* These are sold individually, meaning you can only buy one of Tiye Phoenix. This way, other people have an opportunity to get their hands on one, too.

Introduction that I wrote about Tiye Phoenix in 2019: Tiye Phoenix is an emcee, producer, & singer originally from Baltimore, Maryland. My intro to @tiyephoenix happened when the Polyrhythm Addicts song for “Reachin'” came out, sometime in 2007, & then their Breakin’ Glass album was in heavy rotation. A couple years following that, she dropped her debut album, titled Half Woman/Half Amazin’ (side note: she produced the title track), which I remember receiving massive amounts of praise in both print & online (rightfully so 🔥). Tiye Phoenix REMAINS a stand-out on the mic with a powerful delivery, clever rhymes, knock-out punchlines, & a flow that’s sophisticated, yet hard & unwavering. Whether spitting ferocious lyrical bangers, bedroom heat, or giving us introspective, spiritually-aligned songs, Tiye is a strong, empowered woman that continues to be a force to be reckoned with in hip hop. She has been making a name for herself since the ’90s, too! She started S.O.U.L. Food Symphony, a D.C.-based all-female collective that was made up of emcees, singers, & musicians. She was the first female artist to sign to Rawkus Records. Over time, she has worked with those such as Phonte, Mos Def, The Last Emperor, Hank & Keith Shocklee, Da Beatminerz, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Queen Herawin, & more. She even toured as a rapper with Teena Marie & Rick James (RIP). That said, she has a lot of music out there through solo releases, collaborative works, freestyles, & more, but her latest is the venomous “Kill Bill 3”, which finds her, Stahhr, & Queen Herawin spitting lethal verses. It will also be on her forthcoming EP, titled The Masters Program, which is named after her current educational endeavor (getting a Master’s in counseling!). Some other things? She is an astrologer & does chart readings on IG. She is a classically trained pianist. She is beginning to direct music videos, which can be seen in “Tiye’s Echo”. She is a mother to Safa, who is a jazz singer. If you don’t know her name yet, get familiar.
FYI: Tiye Phoenix has been putting in work since that intro paragraph. She has released the previously talked about EP The Masters Program, along with another, called The Glow, in 2020.
