The SP-505 was released in 2002, and was often associated with hip hop and electronic music. Madlib had used this sampler (as well as the 303), and it’s still a primary machine for some producers today.

The original drawing was done in 2018, and has been recolored with raspberry and coral colors on the base, with pops of candy yellows and greens on the drum pads. The partially complex design of the sampler’s layout was really fun to illustrate. You can find it in Beat Machine sticker pack #2, which all feature a sunset color theme. Slap the sticker anywhere you want.
